Co-organized by AlipayHK and SEED Foundation, the UI Design Competition and Job Shadowing Program is tailored for secondary school students to explore the exciting world of UI design through fun workshops and hands-on activities. Students will learn how to create user-friendly and visually appealing app interfaces. The top 15 designs will advance for interviews and compete for a job shadowing experience, unlocking the endless possibilities of digital design.

How do I register for the competition?
You need to complete an online registration form through the AlipayHK campaign page by entering your details and your teacher advisor’s information. Simply click the “Apply” button, which will redirect you to the AlipayHK App to complete the process.
What will I learn from the UI design workshop?
The workshop covers an introduction to AlipayHK’s business, UI design principles, color theory, user flow design, accessibility, and Figma wireframing. It’s designed to help participants enhance their skills in creating user-friendly app designs.
What am I required to submit for the competition?
Participants are required to create a Key Visual (KV) based on a specified theme, along with a Skin Design, and redesign an app page using Figma. All submissions must be submitted as a Figma file, and a submission link will be provided after registration.

The theme will be provided once you complete your registration. After signing up, you’ll receive detailed instructions and the theme for designing your Key Visual (KV).
What are Key Visual Design (KV) and Skin Design?
The Key Visual Design (KV) is the core design element of an app, showcasing its overall look, feel, and design concept Skin Design extends the Key Visual Design elements to three key areas on the AlipayHK app homepage: banner, function icons and the navigation bar.
Is the competition restricted to certain grade levels?
No! The competition is open to all students from F1 to F6.
Is the competition limited to students from specific disciplines?
No, students from all academic backgrounds are welcome to join.
Is there any cost to participate in the competition?
No, both the competition and the workshop are free of charge for all participants.
How will winners be selected?
The AlipayHK and SEED Foundation teams will evaluate all submissions and select the Top 15 designs based on the judging criteria. These designs will be featured on the AlipayHK App for public voting. The Top 5 will advance to the finals, where finalists will present their designs to a panel of judges and senior executives. The Top 3 winners will be determined based on their presentation and interview performance.
Can one teacher advise multiple contestants?
Yes, a teacher can mentor multiple students.
How will the public voting process work?
The Top 15 Key Visual (KV) and Skin designs will be selected by the AlipayHK and SEED Foundation teams and featured on the AlipayHK App. The public will then vote for their favorite designs.
