The 𝛂dvice program's "Youth Tech Innovation and UX Design Competition & Job Shadowing Program 2026", organised by AlipayHK, co-organised by SEED Foundation and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), and supported by the Education Bureau.
Choose one theme, and design a new feature with AI elements for the AlipayHK Super App
- Design the Key Visual (KV) that expresses your chosen theme
- Design five navigation buttons for the navigation bar with a consistent style matching your KV
- Consider user requirements, design a new feature with AI elements for the AlipayHK Super App based on your chosen theme (using Figma, up to 2 pages)
- Write a 100-200 word proposal
Explaining how the feature solves user pain points and improve the user experience
- Provide user research records using one of the following methods(minimum 10 participants). Demonstrate how research methods (e.g., data analysis) and creative design thinking are combined to address user needs:
- Option A: User Questionnaire Survey Record: Design a user questionnaire and collect survey responses. Submit the questionnaire design and survey records.
- Option B: Focus Group: Conduct a focus group session and submit a transcript or summary of the session, including the discussion questions used and key findings.

During the internship, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with the AlipayHK internal teams on real projects and enhance their professional skills.

The briefing session will detail the competition objectives, rules, submission guidelines, and subsequent workshop arrangements. A Q&A session will be held afterwards to address participants' questions.
To help participants grasp the competition direction and refine their design strategies, an optional in-person workshop will be held.
- Students will learn about AlipayHK's business strategy and App UX design concepts, and how to understand user needs through user research (e.g., questionnaires or daily observations).
- Mentors will personally teach basic Figma operations and practical skills to enhance design efficiency.

Select one theme and design a new feature with AI elements for the AlipayHK Super App. Participants must submit the proposal and design files via the online form provided by the Organiser.
- The top 15 designs will be displayed on AlipayHK for public voting.
- AlipayHK users will be able to choose their favorite design.
- The semi-final and final will be held on the same day
- Top 15: Present with a 5-page deck to compete for Top 6
- Top 6: Final presentations and interviews to compete for Champion / 1st Runner-up / 2nd Runner-up
- Form 1 to Form 6 students currently enrolled in local full-time secondary schools registered with the Hong Kong Education Bureau or designated Greater Bay Area secondary schools
- Individuals or teams of up to 4 can participate
- Participants must be aged above 12
- AlipayHK EKYC verified user (except for students from the Greater Bay Area)
- All team members must be from the same school
- Each participant must be accompanied by a supervising teacher

- All submissions must be original and must not have been previously awarded or published in other competitions. *Please refer to Q7 in FAQ
- The Organiser reserves the right to use submitted works for promotional and display purposes. Participants must comply with the competition rules; violations will result in disqualification. For details, please refer to the event terms and conditions. Participants are required to complete AlipayHK identity verification before submission (except for students from the Greater Bay Area).
The competition is open to current secondary school students (Form 1 – Form 6) in the 2026/2027 school year, aged 12 or above. Participants can join individually or in teams of up to 4 members. All team members must be from the same school. There are no restrictions on the subjects students are studying, and all interested students are welcome to participate.

No, each student can only represent one team in the competition. This rule is to ensure fairness and allow each participant to fully commit to their team, focusing on delivering their best creative and design work.
No. All team member lists are confirmed after the design submission deadline and cannot be changed. This rule is to ensure fairness and consistency in the competition judging process for all participating teams. If there are special circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible (WhatsApp: 5597 8144 / Email: uxcompetition@seedfoundation.hk) for individual handling.
Participants must submit (failure to complete any of these requirements will result in disqualification):
- Figma design file link, which must include the Key Visual (KV), five navigation buttons, and one interface for a new AI-powered feature based on your chosen theme.
The Figma link must be set to "Anyone with the link can view". - 100-200 word proposal, explaining the design concept and how the AI feature solves user pain points.
- Provide user needs questionnaire design and user survey records, including:
- Complete list of questionnaire questions (PDF format)
- Responses from a minimum of 10 respondents, with a brief description of respondents' basic background (e.g., age range, etc.)
If an online survey tool is used (e.g., Google Forms, Microsoft Forms, SurveyMonkey, etc.), the following must also be submitted:
- Response spreadsheet exported from the survey platform (CSV or XLSX format)
- Screenshot of the survey response page, showing the total number of responses and the date range of submissions (JPG or PNG format)
If a paper-based questionnaire is used, the following must also be submitted:
- Scanned copies or photographs of all completed questionnaires (PDF, JPG, or PNG format)
If a focus group is conducted, the following must be submitted:
- A list of discussion questions used in the session (PDF format)
- A written transcript or summary of responses from a minimum of 10 participants, with a brief description of participants' basic background (e.g., age range) (CSV or XLSX format)
Yes, all submissions must be original and must not have been previously awarded or published in other competitions.
Yes. Participants are permitted to employ AI tools to generate visual elements for the final submission. However, each submission must embody the participant's own original ideas and design concepts and must not plagiarize any existing work.
Please resubmit the submission form if you have any changes to the Figma file.
AlipayHK and the SEED team will select the Top 15. Their Key Visual (KV) and five navigation buttons from the Top 15 will be uploaded to the AlipayHK App for public voting, allowing the public to choose their favorite design. The winner will receive the Most Popular Skin Design Award.
For the Semi-Final and Final rounds, shortlisted students or teams will need to prepare a 5-page deck to present their work, covering the complete UX process, ideation, and user flow design.
Yes, an optional in-person workshop will be held to introduce participants to the competition arrangements, requirements, AlipayHK business strategy, App user experience design concepts, and provide a basic tutorial on using Figma. Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The selection process involves internal shortlisting by a judging panel based on the submitted proposals and designs. Shortlisted students or teams will then proceed to the semi-final and final rounds where they will present their work and undergo interviews to determine the Champion, 1<sup>st</sup> runner-up, 2<sup>nd</sup> runner-up.
- The Top 15 contestants will receive a Certificate of Participation, and the Top 6 shortlisted students will receive a Top 6 Certificate.
- The Champion, 1st runner-up, and 2nd runner-up will participate in the “𝛂dvice Job Shadowing Program”, be awarded the title of "AlipayHK Junior Chief Innovation Officer", receive an Award Certificate, and A. Point rewards.
